Proenza Schouler Spring-Summer 2025: A Fresh Spin on Past Favorites

September 7, 2024

Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez opened the fashion season with an intimate show in Tribeca, ahead of New York Fashion Week. The guest list was limited to 140, and the collection focused on fringe, while also bringing back some past hits like cylindrical bags, feathered sandals, and leather dresses.

The designers explained their approach: “We’ve stripped things down so much last season that we’re now rebuilding our past codes in new ways.” Their emphasis on timeless, well-made pieces reflects a thoughtful response to changing times. The collection also introduced nautical-inspired elements—netted bags, sailor pants, sleeveless tops—along with pastel bustier dresses, leather jackets, and rubber footwear from their collaboration with Sorel.
